Ubisoft Delays Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Acknowledges Star Wars Outlaws’ Disappointing Sales
Ubisoft's year of setbacks continues. It seems the company's decision to skip the Tokyo Game Show wasn't just a coincidence – Assassin's Creed Shadows has been officially delayed.
The publisher announced the postponement via social media, citing the need for additional polish and refinement of gameplay mechanics. As a result, all pre-orders for Shadows will be refunded, and new pre-orders will include a free story DLC as compensation.
The new release date for Assassin's Creed Shadows is February 14th, 2025. The historical action game will simultaneously launch on all platforms, including Steam, marking a departure from Ubisoft's previous strategy of staggered releases on PC.
In other news, Ubisoft has acknowledged that the initial sales of Star Wars Outlaws have been disappointing. Despite positive reviews and generally favorable player feedback, the company has taken note of the lukewarm reception. Development efforts are now focused on creating patches and additional content for Outlaws.
