AirCaps Glasses Help People with Hearing Impairments

Latitudo's AirCaps glasses display real-time captions for people with hearing impairments, improving communication and confidence.

Latitudo has introduced AirCaps, innovative glasses designed to assist people with hearing impairments. These glasses display real-time captions of conversations, enhancing communication and boosting confidence.

AirCaps Glasses Help People with Hearing Impairments

AirCaps work in conjunction with a smartphone, which acts as a microphone. When the smartphone detects nearby speech, a built-in recognition algorithm converts the audio to text. This text is then projected onto the inner surface of the glasses' lenses, allowing the user to read what's being said instantly.

If the user removes the glasses, the text is also displayed on the smartphone's screen. According to the developers, the glasses are lightweight, comfortable, and suitable for use in various social settings.

AirCaps aim to improve the quality of life for people with hearing loss, making everyday communication more accessible and empowering. Latitudo plans to further develop the glasses, adding new features to potentially create a versatile electronic assistant for the hearing impaired.
