Alleged Tensor G5 Geekbench Scores Disappoint

Leaked Geekbench scores for Google's alleged Tensor G5 chip show surprisingly low performance, even compared to the Tensor G4.

A new Geekbench listing purportedly reveals the performance of Google's upcoming Tensor G5 chip, and the results are underwhelming, even compared to the already underperforming Tensor G4.

Google Pixel 9 Pro

The alleged Tensor G5, identified as "Google Frankel," features a configuration of two efficiency cores at 2.44 GHz, four cores at 2.86 GHz, and a prime core at 3.40 GHz. It scored 1323 in single-core and 4004 in multi-core tests.

Chipset Single-Core Multi-Core
Alleged Tensor G5 1323 4004
Tensor G4 (Pixel 9 Pro XL) 1950 4741

These scores are significantly lower than the Tensor G4's scores of 1950 (single-core) and 4741 (multi-core) on the Pixel 9 Pro XL ( buy on Amazon ). This contradicts rumors of significant performance improvements for the Tensor G5, which is expected to be built on TSMC's N3E process, unlike its Samsung-manufactured predecessors.

It's likely that this Geekbench listing represents a very early version of the Tensor G5 or is simply a fake. These scores are probably not representative of the final chip that will power the Pixel 10 series.
