AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D, touted as the fastest gaming CPU, has rapidly sold out at major retailers worldwide following its launch. The overwhelming demand has left gamers eager to upgrade scrambling to find the chip in stock.
Major US retailers like Newegg, Amazon, BestBuy, Microcenter, and B&H are currently listing the 9800X3D as "Sold Out" or "Out of Stock." While some Microcenter stores reportedly still have limited stock, it's expected to disappear quickly.
The launch day saw long queues outside retailers globally as gamers anticipated the new CPU and its significant performance gains. The situation is similar in the UK, EU, and Asian markets. 3DCenter reports that most major EU retailers are out of stock, with the next shipment expected around November 12th, although pre-orders are already filling up.
Japanese buyers can expect the 9800X3D to be available starting November 15th. While listings can be found on eBay, these are mostly from scalpers selling the CPU at inflated prices well above the $479 MSRP. It's advisable to avoid these listings and wait for restocks at authorized retailers.
