AMD is reportedly gearing up to launch two new high-end CPUs, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D, in late January 2025. The announcement is expected to take place at CES 2025.
Following the success of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, AMD is expanding its 3D V-Cache lineup with these two Ryzen 9 processors. Both CPUs will feature 2nd Generation 3D V-Cache and full overclocking support.
Specifications
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D will boast 16 cores and 32 threads, with a total cache pool of 144MB (128MB L3 + 16MB L2). The Ryzen 9 9900X3D will offer 12 cores and 24 threads, with a 140MB cache pool (128MB L3 + 12MB L2).
While clock speeds and TDP are yet to be confirmed, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D's 120W TDP suggests similar or potentially higher figures for these new chips.
3D V-Cache technology offers excellent gaming efficiency and low power consumption, while the additional TDP headroom can be utilized for multi-threaded workloads or overclocking.
