AMD has quietly updated its Ryzen AI 300 series processors to support faster LPDDR5X-8000 memory. This change, reflected on AMD's official website, could lead to performance improvements in various scenarios, particularly for AI tasks.
The updated specifications show a boost in supported memory speed from LPDDR5X-7500 to LPDDR5X-8000. This faster RAM is expected to enhance overall performance, especially for AI workloads, and also provide a slight boost to integrated graphics performance. The HP EliteBook X G1a is among the first laptops expected to feature this faster memory.
Additionally, AMD's Strix Point processors now appear to support only two dual-rank SO-DIMM DDR5-5600 modules, instead of the previously listed four. AMD has yet to make an official announcement regarding these specification changes.
