Geekbench AI Benchmark and Specifications

The Krackan Point APU, identified as "AMD Engineering Sample: 100-000001600-40_Y" within an ASUS laptop, was tested on Geekbench AI. While the scores themselves weren't remarkable (likely due to being an early engineering sample), the revealed specifications are of interest. The CPU features 6 cores and 12 threads, split into two clusters of 3 cores each, potentially a mix of Zen 5 and Zen 5c cores. It's unclear whether these clusters reside on the same CCD or separate ones.

Potential SKUs and Release

This 6-core chip is speculated to be the Ryzen AI 5 340/330 APU, the entry-level offering in the Krackan Point family. A mid-range 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 is also expected. Note that this naming convention differs from Strix Point CPUs, which will use the Ryzen AI Pro branding.

AMD is projected to launch Krackan Point in early 2025 for affordable platforms. It's also speculated that a Krackan Point chip could power next-generation consoles as the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, succeeding the Z1 Extreme.
