Asus ROG Phone 9's Dot-Matrix Display Gets Mini-Games
AniMe Vision dot-matrix display on the Asus ROG Phone 9 series will feature mini-games, adding to its existing functionality.
Asus has teased a cool new feature for the AniMe Vision mini-LED dot-matrix display on the back of the ROG Phone 9 series: mini-games. This adds to the display's existing functionality, which includes showing notifications, time, battery level, custom text, and animations. Promotional videos on Weibo show the AniMe Vision running games like Pac-Man, Dino Run, and a Space Invaders-like game controlled using the phone's pressure-sensitive triggers. The AniMe Vision on the ROG Phone 9/9 Pro will also retain the features from the ROG Phone 8 Pro (currently available on Amazon), such as displaying: Call notifications Battery level Time Timer Weather Custom animations It's currently unclear whether both the standard and Pro models of the ROG Phone 9 will have this secondary display. Last year, the standard ROG Phone 8 had an RGB Aura logo instead of the AniMe Vision display. The ROG Phone 9 series, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, is scheduled to launch on November 19th.
