Ayaneo has released new photos of its upcoming Ayaneo 3 gaming handheld, revealing key features including an OCuLink port for enhanced external GPU performance.
The Ayaneo 3, alongside the OneXPlayer OneXFly F1 Pro, will be among the first handhelds to feature the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU. While both devices are expected to offer similar performance based on this shared chipset, the Ayaneo 3 may have an edge in external graphics capabilities.
Unlike the OneXFly F1 Pro, which relies on USB4 for eGPU connectivity (limited to 40 Gbps), the Ayaneo 3's OCuLink port offers a peak transfer speed of 64 Gbps. This makes it a potential desktop replacement when paired with compatible eGPU docks like the Minisforum DEG1. It will also be compatible with AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT and RX 7800M-based eGPUs, such as the GPD G1 and OneXGPU 2.
The new photos also showcase a top-mounted USB Type-C port, a third set of shoulder buttons, rear-mounted RQ1 and RQ2 buttons, and what appears to be a recessed MicroSD card slot.
While a release date is yet to be announced, Ayaneo has confirmed that the device will be available with both LCD and OLED display options, as well as a more affordable Ryzen 7 8840U APU variant.
