Baldur’s Gate III Popularity Still Growing One Year Later

Michael Douse, Head of Publishing at Larian Studios, revealed that the game's average daily player count has increased by 3% in 2024 compared to the same periods in 2023. Even more impressively, the average number of daily active users is up by 20%. Steam Deck users, in particular, have embraced the RPG, with a 61% increase in playtime.

Larian attributes this surge in popularity to the addition of cross-platform mod support. They previously reported over one million mod downloads within 24 hours of the feature's launch, a number that has undoubtedly grown significantly since then.

The game's reach has even extended to Vatican City, where Larian has reportedly sold two copies.
