Base M4 MacBook Pro Gets Bigger Battery for 24-Hour Runtime
The base M4 MacBook Pro features a 5% larger battery, contributing to its impressive 24-hour battery life.
Apple's new M4 MacBook Pro boasts impressive battery life, thanks in part to a larger battery cell. While the external design remains the same as the M3 model, the internal battery has received a 5% increase in capacity. According to Max Tech on YouTube, the base M4 MacBook Pro has a 72.6Wh battery, approximately 5% larger than the M3 model's battery. This increased capacity, along with the M4 chip's efficiency, contributes to the advertised 24-hour runtime—a two-hour improvement over the M3 MacBook Pro. Interestingly, the internal layout and other components, including the thermal solution and speakers, remain unchanged. Apple has managed to fit the larger battery within the existing chassis. While the base M4 MacBook Pro achieves 24 hours of battery life, the M4 Pro and M4 Max models offer slightly less, around 18 hours, likely due to their higher power consumption.
