BioWare Shifts Focus to Mass Effect 5, Considers Dragon Age Remasters

In an interview with Rolling Stone, The Veilguard's creative director, John Epler, confirmed the studio's shift towards Mass Effect 5. He also mentioned that BioWare is considering remasters of the original Dragon Age trilogy, but technical challenges pose a significant hurdle.

"About 20 people, including myself, are still familiar with the Eclipse engine. Remastering Dragon Age would be more complex than Mass Effect... I love the original games. Never say never."

The original Dragon Age games used various engines. The first game was built on Eclipse, the second on a modified version of Eclipse, and Dragon Age: Inquisition used Frostbite. The Mass Effect trilogy, however, utilized Unreal Engine 3, making remasters potentially less complicated.
