Analytics firm Kantar has released its list of best-selling smartphones by region for Q3 2024, highlighting different consumer preferences around the world, while also revealing one dominant device.
The report covers the US, Australia, mainland China, Japan, and Europe (combined data for Italy, UK, Spain, France, and Germany). The iPhone 15 topped the sales charts in four out of five regions, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max led in China.
Apple's iPhone 15 series also secured the second best-selling spot in all regions except Europe, where the Samsung Galaxy A55 took second place, and Japan, where the Google Pixel 8a claimed the spot. In the US, iPhones dominated the entire top 5, while in Australia, only the fifth spot went to an Android device—the Samsung Galaxy A55.
Japan and China showed the most diverse brand representation. The Sharp Aquos Wish3 made the list of bestsellers in Japan, while in China, the HUAWEI Pura 70 and Xiaomi 14 proved popular alongside the iPhones.
