Strong Q3 Performance

The report reveals a 12.2% increase in PC CPU shipments compared to Q2 2024, bringing the total to approximately 70 million units. This is a considerable improvement from the under 60 million units shipped in Q2 and represents positive year-on-year growth of 7.8%. This growth is particularly noteworthy given the significant decline in Q3 of both 2021 and 2022.

iGPU and Server CPU Growth

The integrated GPU (iGPU) market also experienced growth, with a 7% increase in Q3 2024 compared to Q2 and a 6% year-on-year increase. This reflects the advancements made by AMD and Intel in iGPU technology. Server CPU shipments also saw positive growth, increasing by 10.5% compared to Q2 and 2% year-on-year.

While the overall trend is positive, the shipment numbers are still below the peak levels of 2020 and 2021. The continued demand for AI and AI-related hardware is expected to further drive CPU shipment growth in the coming year.
