Global CPU Shipments See 12% Q3 Growth, Driven by China
Global CPU shipments experienced a 12% increase in Q3 2024 compared to Q2, with significant growth driven by China's PC market.
According to the latest report from Jon Peddie Research (JPR), global CPU shipments saw a significant surge in Q3 2024, marking a recovery from the downturn experienced in 2021 and 2022. Strong Q3 Performance The report reveals a 12.2% increase in PC CPU shipments compared to Q2 2024, bringing the total to approximately 70 million units. This is a considerable improvement from the under 60 million units shipped in Q2 and represents positive year-on-year growth of 7.8%. This growth is particularly noteworthy given the significant decline in Q3 of both 2021 and 2022. China played a major role in this growth, with Lenovo being a significant contributor, according to JPR President Dr. Jon Peddie.
