Intel's next-generation Arc Battlemage "Xe2" discrete GPUs are slated for a December 2024 release, according to renowned data miner Tomasz Gawroński. This puts Intel ahead of NVIDIA and AMD in launching their next-gen graphics cards.
Gawroński revealed what appears to be an official teaser, pointing to a December launch. This suggests either a slight delay from a previously rumored November release or that December was the intended target all along.

By launching Battlemage in December, Intel aims to gain a head start in marketing its new GPUs before NVIDIA and AMD release their next-gen offerings.
Gawroński also hinted at Intel's ongoing development of Xe3 "Celestial" GPUs, planned for release with next-gen Panther Lake mobile processors. While Intel remains committed to GPU development, their focus on integrated graphics for their CPUs might influence where Celestial GPUs ultimately land.
Battlemage GPUs are expected to be based on TSMC's 4nm process, featuring up to 32 Xe2 cores, up to 16GB of memory, and up to a 256-bit bus. Leaked information points to several GPU dies (BMG-G21, BMG-G10, and BMG-31), suggesting a diverse lineup.
With Intel's Battlemage in December, NVIDIA's "RTX 50" Blackwell, and AMD's "RDNA 4"/"UDNA 4" expected in early 2025, the next few months promise exciting developments for the PC gaming landscape.
