Intel Arrow Lake's Arc 130T iGPU Outperforms Lunar Lake's Arc 140V in OpenCL

Benchmark results reveal that Intel's Arrow Lake Xe-LPG+ Arc 130T iGPU performs better than the Lunar Lake Xe2 Arc 140V in OpenCL tests.

Recent Geekbench OpenCL benchmark results show that the Intel Arc 130T iGPU, based on the Xe-LPG+ architecture in Arrow Lake, outperforms the Arc 140V iGPU found in Lunar Lake, which uses the Xe2 architecture.

The tested processor was the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H (Arrow Lake-H), featuring 4 P-Cores and 10 E-Cores, with a base clock of 1.70 GHz and a boost clock of 4.9 GHz. The Arc 130T iGPU, with its 7 Xe cores (112 EUs) and 8GB of shared memory, scored 33,508 points in the OpenCL test. This surpasses the Arc 140V's top score of 27,109 points, even though the 140V has 8 Xe2 cores.

Performance Comparison

Here's a comparison of OpenCL scores from Geekbench 6:

GPU Score
Radeon 890M (16 CU RDNA 3.5) 37804
GTX 1650 6 GB (dGPU) 36573
Arc 130T (7 Xe-LPG+ Arrow Lake) 33508
Radeon 880M (12 CU RDNA 3.5) 31079
Arc 140V (8 Xe2 Lunar Lake) 27109
Arc Xe (8 Xe Meteor Lake) 26913
Arc 130V (7 Xe2 Lunar Lake) 24659

This difference in performance might be attributed to the Xe-LPG+ architecture's better optimization for older APIs like OpenCL, while Xe2 focuses on newer APIs. While Xe2 is expected to excel in gaming, these results highlight the importance of driver optimization for specific tasks.

The Core Ultra 5 225H also showed modest CPU performance gains over the Core Ultra 5 155H in Geekbench's single-core and multi-core tests.
