Intel Core Ultra 5 245K iGPU Overclocked to 3 GHz, Near GTX 1650 Performance

An overclocked Intel Core Ultra 5 245K iGPU achieves near-GTX 1650 performance, demonstrating the potential of Intel's integrated graphics.

The integrated GPU (iGPU) of the Intel Core Ultra 5 245K has been overclocked to an impressive 3 GHz, showcasing the potential of Intel's integrated graphics solutions. At this frequency, the iGPU achieves performance close to that of a desktop NVIDIA GTX 1650.

The Core Ultra 5 245K features 4 Xe Cores based on the Xe-LPG architecture and a stock iGPU clock speed of 1.9 GHz. Overclocker "Arabus" managed to push the iGPU frequency to 3 GHz using an Arctic Freezer 4U-M air cooler. This resulted in a significant performance uplift.

Benchmark Results

In 3DMark Time Spy Graphics, the overclocked iGPU scored 3336 points, a 54% increase compared to the stock score of around 2100-2200 points. The overall Time Spy score reached 3798, comparable to the GTX 1650's score of 3531. Impressively, this was achieved with a temperature of only 64°C.

Metric Stock Overclocked

Time Spy Graphics Score ~2100-2200 3336
Overall Time Spy Score N/A 3798
Temperature N/A 64°C

This demonstrates that the Core Ultra 5 245K can offer satisfactory 1080p gaming performance at high settings with a sufficiently overclocked iGPU, even without requiring a high-end cooling solution.

Further overclocking potential might be possible with a more powerful cooler. Overclocking both the CPU and iGPU simultaneously could lead to even higher scores. In this test, the E-cores were disabled, and the CPU ran on 6 P-cores, which likely contributed to the lower temperatures.
