Intel is reportedly gearing up to launch its next-generation Arc Battlemage desktop GPUs in December, just before CES 2025. This news comes from Weibo leaker Golden Pig Upgrade, who hints at a "brilliant" performance from the new lineup.
While Intel's first-gen Arc GPUs struggled to gain traction, the company seems determined to make a comeback with Battlemage. The focus will be on the mid-range segment, competing against offerings from NVIDIA and AMD. Unlike NVIDIA, however, Intel and AMD are not expected to release high-end or enthusiast-level cards initially, prioritizing market share growth in the mainstream segment.
Battlemage Architecture and Specifications
The Arc Battlemage GPUs will utilize TSMC's 4nm process and the Xe2 architecture, which has already debuted in Intel's Lunar Lake mobile processors with promising results. Early tests suggest strong performance for an integrated solution, raising hopes for the desktop variants.
Rumored specifications for the Battlemage lineup include up to 32 Xe2 cores, up to 16GB of memory, and up to a 256-bit bus. Leaked GPU dies like the BMG-G21, BMG-G10, and BMG-31 suggest a diverse range of options.
