CES may have revealed the launch timeframe and some key details about MSI's upcoming Intel Lunar Lake-powered gaming handheld, the Claw 8 AI+. It appears the device will boast a larger battery than the Asus ROG Ally X.
MSI initially teased the Claw 8 AI+ at Computex 2024 and later showcased it at IFA 2024, stating:
At IFA 2024, MSI will also provide further insights into the Claw 8 AI+...The new Windows 11 gaming handheld will expand the range in the Claw series at the beginning of 2025...
Now, the Claw 8 AI+'s recognition as a CES 2025 Innovation Award Honoree suggests a potential January 2025 unveiling, though this might not coincide with the official release. CES also revealed the handheld's impressive 82Wh battery, a 2Wh improvement over the ROG Ally X and significantly larger than the 53Wh battery in the current MSI Claw.
MSI claims the 82Wh battery will provide over 4 hours of gameplay in AAA titles. However, it's advisable to wait for independent reviews to verify these claims. The Claw 8 AI+ also features an 8-inch display.
