NVIDIA is reportedly ceasing production of its GeForce RTX 4070 series GPUs, including the RTX 4070, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER, by the end of 2024. This move is to prepare for the launch of the next-generation RTX 5070.
According to information from Board Channels forums, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER already has limited inventory and is expected to sell out by the end of November. Production of the RTX 4070 SUPER and RTX 4070 will reportedly end by late November or early December, with the last shipments to partners expected in December and remaining inventory cleared out by January.
The information from Board Channels, machine-translated, states:
1. RTX4070TIS series: NV itself has a small supply of this GPU, and it will be discontinued at the same pace as the 4080S. It is expected that it will be sold out within November.
2. RTX4070S\4070 series: It is expected that the supply will be limited throughout the fourth quarter, and the supply will be less than that of Q3. It is expected that the GPU can be supplied until December. The inventory of the AIC brand will be almost finished in January, and the market inventory will be digested later. Therefore, there is no need to expect much supply of these two series in the fourth quarter, which is basically in a state of supply exceeding demand.
With Black Friday and the holiday season approaching, consumers can anticipate potential deals from retailers and AIB partners looking to clear out existing RTX 4070 series stock.
The RTX 5070, the successor to the RTX 4070/4070 SUPER, is rumored to be launched in February 2025, with a potential unveiling at CES 2025 during NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's keynote.
