One-Netbook has started shipping the OneXFly F1 Pro, the first gaming handheld powered by AMD's new Strix Point APUs. Pre-orders placed earlier this month are now being fulfilled, and pre-order discounts are still available.
Pricing and Availability
The OneXFly F1 Pro with the Ryzen AI 9 365, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD is currently available for $1,099 (down from $1,219). The higher-end Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 model starts at $1,339 with the pre-order discount.
While the discounts are generous, the Strix Point-powered handhelds are priced higher than previous-generation devices like the ROG Ally, which can now be found at even lower prices due to frequent sales.
Performance
Despite the higher price, the OneXFly F1 Pro offers a performance boost. The Ryzen AI 9 365 model delivers about 15% better performance than the ROG Ally with the Z1 Extreme, while the AI 9 HX 370 boasts a 20% improvement. This increased performance is attributed to the new RDNA 3.5 integrated GPUs.
Future Competition
It remains to be seen how the upcoming Ryzen Z2 series, rumored to launch at CES 2025, will compete against the last-gen handhelds and the new Strix Point devices.
