Peladn Link S-2: Affordable OCuLink eGPU Dock
Peladn Link S-2 offers an affordable OCuLink eGPU solution with an open-air design, similar to the Minisforum DEG1 but at a lower price.
Peladn has released the Link S-2, an eGPU dock with a design and specifications very similar to the Minisforum DEG1. However, the Link S-2 comes at a more affordable price of $86.72 on AliExpress. The Link S-2 features an OCuLink port, offering 64 Gbps of bandwidth, making it a superior choice for eGPUs compared to USB4 solutions. It includes a PCIe x16 slot compatible with a wide range of graphics cards, even the powerful Nvidia RTX 4090, thanks to its open-air design. A 24-pin ATX connector is provided for powering the GPU, but the Link S-2 lacks a built-in PSU, USB hub, or M.2 slots. Its sole purpose is to connect an external GPU. Compatibility is limited to systems with an OCuLink port, like the OneXPlayer M1. The similarity in design and specs between the Peladn Link S-2 and Minisforum DEG1 is a common occurrence among Chinese manufacturers. Other lesser-known brands offer similar products under different names.
