Reza has announced a new group of memory interface chips that will enable DDR5 MRDIMM to reach speeds of 12800 MT/s, a 4000 MT/s increase over the first generation. This advancement marks a significant step forward for high-performance computing.
Next-Gen MRDIMM Performance
Reza introduced the RRG50120 MRCD, RRG51020 MDB, and RRG53220 PMIC chips, along with a temperature sensor and SPD hub for MRDIMMs. These chips are designed for second-generation DDR5 MRDIMM, a technology that offers higher bandwidth and capacity compared to standard DDR5 DIMMs. MRDIMMs utilize Multiplexer Chips to feed twice the data to the CPU, making them ideal for AI, HPC, and data center applications.
While first-gen MRDIMM achieved 8800 MT/s, Reza's new chips push the second generation to 12800 MT/s, resulting in approximately 35% higher memory bandwidth. Additionally, the RRG50120 MRCD boasts 45% lower power consumption, and the RRG53220 PMIC offers improved electrical protection and efficiency.

Future of High-Performance Memory
The demand for higher performance in AI and HPC is driving the development of advanced memory technologies like MRDIMM and CUDIMM. While MRDIMMs are expected to reach 12000 MT/s soon, some CUDIMMs have already surpassed this mark. Both technologies signal a new era of high performance and low power consumption in client and server segments.
Reza's new chips are scheduled to enter production in the first half of 2025.
