Ruckus Games, a studio founded in 2021 by veterans from Gearbox, Bethesda, and Epic Games, has finally unveiled details about its debut project. Led by CEO and Game Director Paul Sage (formerly Creative Director of Borderlands 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online), the studio is developing a four-player co-op game.

The untitled project, which secured $19 million in funding after investors saw a 20-minute demo, is set in a stylized version of the American heartland. Players take on the roles of ordinary people forced to become heroes when their town comes under attack.

The game promises a large roster of playable characters and wacky weapon combinations, such as a sawblade-shooting toaster and a flamethrower-powerwasher. Players can explore, unlock items, rescue NPCs, and customize their hometowns, which in turn upgrades their weapons and abilities.

Paul Sage emphasized the studio's focus on fun and shared experiences:

"We want games where people have fun from the get-go. Games that are physical, joyous, and just a damn good time to be shared with others. We can't wait to show you what we have in store."

Ruckus Games is currently inviting players to sign up for a playtest on their official website .
