Ryzen and Threadripper CPUs to Get 3D V-Cache
A recent report from Chinese tech site Chiphell suggests that AMD is preparing to release new processors with 3D V-Cache technology. The rumor claims that both consumer-focused Ryzen chips and professional Threadripper CPUs will receive the performance-boosting L3 cache. According to the leak, upcoming Threadripper 9000WX/X series models may feature additional L3 cache on each CCD (Core Complex Die), benefiting performance in demanding workloads requiring high bandwidth. This extra cache could potentially be disabled in the UEFI based on system requirements. The rumor also mentions that hybrid Ryzen Strix Halo APUs may eventually get 3D V-Cache support as well. However, the source notes that implementation in these APUs faces some integration challenges and may not happen soon. AMD has not officially confirmed this information, and the company has not commented on the rumors.
