According to a reputable leaker, Samsung is finally bringing faster update times to its premium smartphones, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. This long-awaited feature, known as Seamless Updates or A/B partitioning, will significantly reduce the downtime associated with system updates.
Seamless Updates work by downloading updates in the background to a secondary partition. Upon rebooting, the phone switches to this updated partition, minimizing installation time and disruption. This feature has been a standard on competing flagship smartphones for nearly a decade.
While Samsung hasn't officially confirmed this feature, its presence on the Galaxy A55 suggests it will eventually reach higher-end devices. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch with Android 15 and receive seven major OS updates. This comes as Google prepares to release Android 16 shortly after the Galaxy S25 launch.
