Following the commercial failure of several high-profile games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Skull & Bones, and Concord, along with the underwhelming sales of Star Wars Outlaws, IGN published an article suggesting that gamers should give smaller releases a chance. The developers of the critically lukewarm Slitterhead responded with sarcasm.
Bokeh Game Studio, led by Keiichiro Toyama (known for Silent Hill and Gravity Rush), tweeted a sarcastic request to IGN to reconsider their 5/10 review score for Slitterhead, given the article's advocacy for smaller titles:
"Hey IGN, cool article, maybe give us a better rating now? Love, Bokeh"
The tweet, however, was poorly received online, with many criticizing the developers' unprofessional behavior. Bokeh Game Studio subsequently deleted the tweet. Toyama himself also reacted to the IGN article, though his response was limited to an emoji.
