Snapdragon 8 Elite 2: Rumored 20% CPU Performance Boost

Early leaks suggest the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 could offer a substantial CPU performance upgrade over its predecessor.

While Qualcomm's next-generation flagship mobile chipset is still some time away, a new leak hints at significant performance gains. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is rumored to deliver a substantial CPU performance upgrade of around 25% compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2: Rumored 20% CPU Performance Boost

According to leaker Jukanlosreve, citing Korean sources, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 are projected to achieve single-core scores around 4000 in Geekbench 6. Given the Snapdragon 8 Elite's typical score of around 3200, this represents a potential 25% performance jump.

A key question is how Qualcomm will manage this performance increase while maintaining acceptable temperatures. The Snapdragon 8 Elite, while powerful, has been criticized for its thermal performance due to its high clock speed.

Earlier rumors suggested the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 would be manufactured by both TSMC and Samsung. However, more recent information indicates it will likely be built solely on TSMC's N3P node.
