Rumors are circulating that Sony is in discussions to acquire Kadokawa Corporation, the owner of renowned game developer FromSoftware. According to Reuters, two sources have indicated a potential deal could be finalized in the coming weeks, sending Kadokawa's stock soaring by nearly 23%. Kadokawa Corporation, founded shortly after World War II, has diverse holdings in publishing, film, anime, and manga. Its ownership of nearly 70% of FromSoftware, the studio behind hit titles like Elden Ring , Dark Souls , and Bloodborne , makes it a particularly attractive target for Sony.
