Microsoft has announced that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be joining the Game Pass library tomorrow, November 12th, 2024. The collection will be accessible across all Game Pass tiers, including the base Game Pass Standard (formerly Xbox Live Gold).
This announcement follows an earlier rumor from August hinting at the arrival of both the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy on Game Pass. While the Crash Bandicoot collection's fate remains unknown, Spyro fans can look forward to revisiting the remastered adventures of the purple dragon.
Upon its original release in 2018, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy received high praise for its faithful recreation of the classic PlayStation games, but some technical issues were noted:
"The Spyro Reignited Trilogy doesn't just play great but also looks great...Sadly, performance isn't as great. The game runs at 30 FPS on the original PlayStation 4 model, and there are some evident frame pacing issues...The soundtrack can also be a bit hit and miss..." - Francesco De Meo
However, these performance concerns are expected to be less noticeable on the more powerful Xbox Series S|X and PC hardware where Game Pass subscribers will likely experience the trilogy.
