STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is proving to be a very demanding game, pushing even powerful hardware like the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D to its limits. New benchmarks from Compusemble on YouTube reveal that the CPU struggles to maintain high frame rates, even at 1080p resolution.
In two CPU-intensive scenarios, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D struggled to reach a 100 FPS average at 1080p. At 4K resolution, the CPU also had difficulty maintaining a steady 60 FPS.
Despite performance concerns on PC and consoles, STALKER 2 has sold over one million copies in just a few days. However, the game's demanding nature and some gameplay balance issues might make it unsuitable for all players.
One reviewer offered this perspective:
...this is a game that knows precisely what it wants to be, although that doesn't mean it is balanced enough to be fun all the time...unless you're really dying to enter the Zone right away, I would recommend waiting a little longer...
STALKER 2 is available now on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, and is also included with Xbox Game Pass.
