TECNO's Pocket Go offers a unique approach to mobile gaming, combining AR glasses with a Windows-powered handheld controller for an immersive experience. Think of it as a wearable gaming PC.
TECNO has confirmed that the Pocket Go AR Pocket Vision headset will support content at up to 60Hz and handle 4K input. The complete package will cost €1,199, with a discount during Black Friday. A Kickstarter campaign launching in late September will offer a special $899 price. The Pocket Vision glasses will also be sold separately.
Pocket Go: How It Works
The Pocket Go system comprises two main components:
- Pocket Windows Handheld: This controller houses a powerful Windows PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, Radeon 780M graphics, a removable 50Wh battery, and advanced cooling. Hall effect joysticks and triggers provide precise control, complemented by immersive haptics.
- Pocket Go AR Pocket Vision Glasses: These AR glasses use a six-axis gyroscope with AI enhancement for tracking. The 0.71-inch MicroOLED display creates the illusion of a massive 215-inch screen. An adjustable diopter caters to glasses wearers.
While pricing for the separate glasses is still unknown, the complete package's potential is intriguing. Imagine transforming your commute or flight into a portable gaming haven.
