NCSoft and Amazon Games have announced exciting new additions coming to the MMORPG Throne and Liberty on December 5th: the spear weapon and the PvP War Games feature.
New Spear Weapon
The spear is a fire-attribute, close-range weapon with unique characteristics:
- Long reach and poking attacks
- Throwing mechanics
- Fast-tempo combo-based combat
- Initiating skills for quick engagement
- Hybrid design suitable for both Tank and DPS roles (Bruiser/Fighter)
The developers explained the design philosophy behind the spear:
The spear is a fire-attribute close-range weapon...It enables combo-based combat with fast-tempo skills...Overall, it's a hybrid weapon that can fulfill both Tank and DPS roles...The existing four Ranged weapons have been performing relatively well...Therefore, we needed a weapon that could change the tide of battle.
The Spear's image started from concepts like Warrior, Berserker, and Assault Captain...We designed it to have strategic value on the battlefield. You can look forward to Spear skills useful for dealing with multiple opponents, combat through distance control, and special Spear-specific skills.
PvP War Games
War Games is a new custom lobby feature for Conquest battles, Rift Stones, and Boon Stones. Players can create lobbies, select the objective, and define team sizes. Both private and public matches are supported, enabling practice sessions for competitive guilds and casual skirmishes with friends.
While there are no immediate rewards associated with War Games, this may change based on community feedback.
Recent Updates
Throne and Liberty recently received four new 2-Star endgame dungeons: Carmine Rage Island, Voidwastes, Island of Terror, and Valley of Slaughter.
