Tim Cook Does Not Prefer Logitech MX Master 3 Over Magic Mouse

Reports of Tim Cook preferring the Logitech MX Master 3 over Apple's Magic Mouse have been debunked. The Apple CEO uses all Apple products daily.

Recent reports claiming that Apple CEO Tim Cook prefers using a Logitech MX Master 3 over Apple's own Magic Mouse have been proven false. Cook has stated that he uses all Apple products every day.

Tim Cook Does Not Prefer Logitech MX Master 3 Over Magic Mouse

The confusion arose from a Wall Street Journal interview where Cook mentioned his daily use of all Apple products. The Verge's Wes Davis, attempting to replicate this, used a variety of Apple devices, including the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad, but also incorporated the Logitech MX Master 3 into his workflow. This was misinterpreted by Mac Observer, leading to the false reports about Cook's preference.

While an honest mistake, the misinformation gained traction online. It highlights the importance of accurate reporting, especially when it comes to potentially damaging claims about individuals or companies.

The incident also brought attention to the Magic Mouse's awkwardly placed bottom-mounted USB-C port, which makes simultaneous charging and use impossible. The Logitech MX Master 3, in contrast, features a front-facing USB-C port. This design difference has sparked criticism of Apple's design choice, especially in light of the similarly placed power button on the new M4 Mac mini.

Despite the inconvenience, Apple defends its design choice by claiming users primarily use sleep mode rather than turning off their Macs.
