Xiaomi has announced that production of its first electric vehicle (EV), the SU7, has surpassed 100,000 units, exceeding its year-end target ahead of schedule.
CEO Lei Jun had set the 100,000-unit mark as a key milestone for the SU7's success. This achievement, driven by strong sales in China, demonstrates the high demand for the electric sedan.
Xiaomi positions the SU7, available in Pro, Max, and Ultra variants, as a "luxury C-class technology sedan." The company highlights its performance, claiming a 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) time of just 10.67 seconds.
The SU7 can be configured with a 3K dashboard display and a 56-inch heads-up display. It also integrates with over 1,000 Xiaomi smart home devices and is offered in various colors.
The recently launched Ultra variant, with a starting price of approximately $112,700 USD, further contributes to the SU7's appeal. Xiaomi estimates it can deliver an additional 20,000 SU7 series vehicles by the end of 2024.
