The 1mm Sycamore solid-state speakers utilize the same platform as xMEMS' Cypress drivers for ANC headphones, employing ultrasonic waves for full-range sound. xMEMS claims improved high-frequency reproduction compared to previous generations.

Sycamore's key advantage lies in its compact size. xMEMS asserts these microspeakers are seven times smaller, three times thinner, and 70% lighter than comparable traditional drivers. This miniaturization offers greater design flexibility for compact electronics.

Sample Sycamore drivers are expected in early 2025, with mass production commencing in October 2025. Products incorporating these new speakers are likely to appear in 2026.
