An Acer Swift laptop is set to feature AMD's upcoming 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, codenamed "Krackan Point," according to a Geekbench listing. This new APU is reportedly faster than the current Ryzen 7 8845HS.
AMD Krackan Point: Key Features
The Krackan Point is an 8-core APU with a 4+4 core configuration (4 Zen 5 and 4 Zen 5c cores). An engineering sample reached a clock speed of 5.05 GHz (5045 MHz) in Geekbench testing and boasts 16MB of L3 cache. It is expected to feature Radeon 860M graphics with 8 Compute Units and an improved NPU design known as XDNA2, capable of 50 TOPS.
Benchmark Performance
The Acer SFG16-61 Swift, equipped with the Krackan Point processor, scored 2677 points in the Geekbench 6.3 single-threaded test and 11742 points in the multi-core test. This surpasses the Ryzen 7 8845HS, a 45W 8-core APU, according to official Geekbench rankings.
Ryzen AI 300 Series Lineup
The Krackan Point is part of AMD's Ryzen AI 300 series, which also includes the Strix Point APU for high-end workstations and a lower-power variant of the Krackan (potentially the Ryzen AI 5 340).
