Amazon has launched a new family of "Nova" foundational AI models designed for businesses. These models are accessible through Amazon Bedrock, a service providing access to various foundation models.
Nova Foundational Models
Three Nova models are currently available:
- Nova Micro: A cost-effective, text-only model for low-latency responses.
- Nova Lite: Processes image, video, and text inputs.
- Nova Pro: Balances accuracy, speed, and cost for a wide range of tasks.
Nova Premier, optimized for complex reasoning, will be added in early 2025.
Amazon claims these models are "at least 75 percent less expensive than the best performing models in their respective intelligence classes in Amazon Bedrock."
Nova Content Generation Models
- Nova Canvas: An image generation model.
- Nova Reel: Generates six-second videos (expanding to two minutes soon).
Future Models (Q1 2025)
- Speech-to-speech model for conversational AI.
- Native multimodal-to-multimodal model for tasks like content translation, editing, and more.
