AMD Ryzen 5 9600 Non-X CPU Reportedly Launching in Late January

A new leak suggests AMD will launch the Ryzen 5 9600 (non-X) alongside other new Ryzen 9000 SKUs in late January.

According to reliable leaker Hoang Anh Phu, AMD is set to expand its Ryzen 9000 lineup next month with three new SKUs, including a non-X variant of the Ryzen 5 9600 processor.

AMD Ryzen 5 9600 Non-X CPU Reportedly Launching in Late January

The leak suggests that AMD plans to release the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D in late January, alongside the new 6-core Ryzen 5 9600. This non-X variant is expected to have a similar TDP to the existing Ryzen 5 9600X (65W) but with potentially slightly lower base and boost clock speeds.

The cache sizes are not expected to change, unless AMD utilizes an alternative silicon design. The leaker suggests that this wouldn't be the first time AMD has used non-standard silicon for its non-X SKUs.

All three processors - Ryzen 5 9600, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and Ryzen 9 9900X3D - are rumored to launch simultaneously in late January. This could mean a coordinated embargo lift for all models.

While rumors previously suggested a 6-core X3D variant (Ryzen 5 9600X3D), there is no mention of it in this latest leak. The Ryzen 5 9600 (non-X) is expected to be priced lower than the Ryzen 5 9600X, which recently dropped to $245. If launched, the new SKU might enter the market around $220 and potentially drop to around $200.
