Apple M5 Chip in iPad Pro: Expected Performance and Features (Late 2025)

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that the M5 iPad Pro will enter mass production in the second half of 2025, delaying its launch.

The refreshed iPad Pro, expected to feature Apple's M5 chip, is facing a slight delay. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, mass production won't begin until the second half of 2025, pushing the launch to later in the year.

Apple M5 Chip in iPad Pro: Expected Performance and Features (Late 2025)

Kuo, in a Medium post, stated that the OLED iPad Pro will be the first device to receive the M5 chip, even ahead of the MacBook Pro. While Apple typically updates iPad Pro models annually, this timeline suggests a later launch than the usual spring timeframe.

It was initially speculated that the M5 iPad Pro would launch alongside the new M4 MacBook Air models in the spring. However, it now appears that only the MacBook Air and iPad Air will be updated at that event.

While the M5 chip promises performance improvements, the external design of the iPad Pro is unlikely to change, given that it received a major redesign earlier this year with the M4 chip. This raises questions about the upgrade's appeal for existing M4 iPad Pro owners.
