An early unboxing video from PCEkspert, a Croatian media channel, reveals the ASUS ROG Strix B860-A motherboard, designed for Intel's upcoming Core Ultra 200 series processors. This mid-range board offers impressive features for enthusiasts.
Features and Specifications
The ASUS ROG Strix B860-A, sporting a white and silver color scheme, is built in the standard ATX form factor. It is based on the Intel B860 chipset, exclusively designed for LGA-1851 motherboards supporting the Arrow Lake series CPUs. Key features include:
- Two PCIe x16 slots (one PCIe 5.0, one PCIe 4.0)
- Support for up to four M.2 SSDs (three 2280 and one 22110), including one PCIe 5.0 slot
- DDR5 memory support (with CUDIMM capabilities)
- Intel 2.5 GbE Ethernet
- WiFi 7 Support
Market Position
Currently, only Z890 motherboards (designed for the premium market) are available for the Intel Core Ultra 200 series. The B860 and H810 chipsets are expected to cater to budget-conscious consumers. The B860 is expected to be the second-best option for consumers (assuming Intel does not launch H870).
Release Timing
The B860 series is expected to launch shortly after CES 2025.
