Just as the year is ending, AYANEO has surprised us with a teaser for its upcoming AYANEO 3 handheld, revealing a groundbreaking feature: swappable controls through its "Magic Module" system. This makes the AYANEO 3 the world's first handheld to offer this level of customization.
The AYANEO 3 will initially come with a standard handheld layout with a stick and D-pad on the left, and ABXY buttons and another joystick on the right.
Magic Modules for Ultimate Flexibility
The revolutionary "Magic Modules" allow users to swap out entire control sections to suit their preferences. Want a trackpad like on the Steam Deck or Legion Go? Just swap the module! Need to switch button layouts for different games? That's possible too.
AYANEO will offer six different modules, three for each side, giving users significant control over how their gaming handheld is configured. The modules will likely use magnets to attach to the AYANEO 3, with POGO pins for electrical connection.
In a previous interview with AYANEO CEO Arthur Zhang, he hinted at proprietary technology enabling innovations "never been seen before." It's clear now that this "Magic Module" system is what he was referring to.
Live Stream Announcement
AYANEO will host a live stream on Thursday, December 26 at 7 AM EST, where we can expect to learn more about the AYANEO 3, including pricing and availability.
