Pearl Abyss has announced native builds of Black Desert Online are in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. This free update for existing players will bring enhanced visuals, smoother gameplay, and significant performance improvements.
Release Timeline and Updates
The PS5 version is nearing platform certification, while the Xbox Series X|S version is currently in development. Both are expected to launch in the first half of 2025, alongside the Land of the Morning Light expansion.
To bridge the gap, Pearl Abyss will release interim updates on December 12th, including Kharazad Accessories, an Accessory Exchange System, and various buffs and rewards running until March 2025. These include:
- 50% Training EXP buff
- 100% Farming EXP buff
- 500% Combat EXP buff
Land of the Morning Light Expansion
The Land of the Morning Light expansion, already available on PC, introduces a new region inspired by ancient Korea. While praised for its visuals and scenery, some have found the amount of information overwhelming, particularly for new players. The expansion's lack of in-depth combat explanations has also been criticized.
