Get ready for some big reveals at The Game Awards 2024! Both Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country are confirmed to make an appearance, promising new trailers and information.
Borderlands 4: A New Planet Awaits
Following a tease from Randy Pitchford, the official Borderlands X (formerly Twitter) account has confirmed Borderlands 4's presence at The Game Awards. The tweet boasts this will be the franchise's most ambitious entry yet.
Announced at Gamescom 2024 for a 2025 release, Borderlands 4 will take players to a brand new planet. While some concept art was shown at PAX West 2024, details remain scarce. This reveal comes after the disappointing reception of the Borderlands movie, though the previous game's strong sales (over 18 million units) suggest high expectations for the sequel.
Mafia: The Old Country: A Prequel Story
Take Two is doubling down on The Game Awards, with Mafia: The Old Country also confirmed for a trailer reveal. Developed by Hangar 13, this prequel will explore the Mafia's origins in the fictional Sicilian city of San Celeste. The game was also initially announced at Gamescom 2024.
The Game Awards 2024 will air on Thursday, December 12th, at 4:30 PM Pacific Time. Mark your calendars!
