Many video games are never released, often disappearing during development. However, sometimes remnants of these canceled projects are found. This time, enthusiasts have unearthed a playable build of the canceled Star Wars: Battlefront 3.
The build, discovered by the Free Radical enthusiast group, is for the Nintendo Wii. Battlefront 3 was well into development and is now playable. While ground combat remains similar to the second game, the third installment includes aerial combat, similar to modern Battlefield titles. Players can engage in dogfights using X-wings and other starfighters.
The Free Radical group plans to delve into the code, refine the game, and release it to the public. While the release date is unclear, the team has identified technical issues in the build that will need to be addressed.
