In a world of increasingly large smartphones, OnePlus is reportedly developing a more compact flagship device. According to seasoned tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, this new phone will feature a 6.3-inch 1.5K display and the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
While 6.3 inches isn't exactly tiny, it's considerably smaller than the 6.82-inch display found on the OnePlus 13. The rumored phone is also expected to feature a 50MP camera with a 1/1.56" Sony IMX906 sensor. However, to keep costs down, it will reportedly lack a periscope camera.
Digital Chat Station also mentioned an under-display fingerprint sensor, though the technology (optical or ultrasonic) hasn't been finalized. The simpler camera layout, reminiscent of the Google Pixel's horizontal array, combined with the smaller screen size, suggests a potentially more affordable price point compared to the standard OnePlus 13.
Whether these rumors prove accurate remains to be seen. However, a smaller, more affordable OnePlus flagship could be an attractive option for those seeking a powerful phone without the oversized dimensions.
