Complete RT Shader 1.6 Delivers Up to 3x Faster Performance

Graphics modder NiceGuy's Complete RT ReShade shader has been updated to version 1.6, promising up to 3x faster performance and improved visuals.

Graphics modder NiceGuy has released Complete RT ReShade shader version 1.6, featuring significant improvements, including up to three times faster performance. This update also brings enhancements to upscaling and ray tracing.

Complete RT Shader 1.6 Delivers Up to 3x Faster Performance

Performance Boost and Enhanced Upscaling

The updated shader demonstrates a substantial performance gain, with the Global Illumination mode running at native resolution in just 4ms compared to 13.5ms in the previous version (1.5). This translates to frame rates of 71 FPS versus 49 FPS, though results may vary. The internal upscaler now dynamically adjusts Global Illumination resolution with floating-point scales from 33% to 100%. It can also automatically match rendering resolution with standard upscalers like NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, Intel XeSS, and Unreal Engine TSR. This leads to improved performance, reduced flickering, and better overall quality.

Improved Ray Tracing

Complete RT's implementation of ReSTIR GI has been improved in both performance and quality, bringing the accuracy close to the ground truth image. The shader now also features enhanced specular reflections due to a fix for flickering issues that occurred at low roughness values. Both reflection precision and performance have been improved as well.

Introducing eLITE RT

NiceGuy has also introduced a new shader called eLITE RT, which aims for a lighter screen space ray-traced GI and is designed to run on lower-end and handheld hardware. While Complete RT focuses on quality with solid performance, eLITE RT prioritizes performance with good quality.

Availability

Both shaders are currently available to NiceGuy's Patreon subscribers. Complete RT is accessible on the second tier ($6 monthly), while eLITE RT is currently only available on the third tier ($11.50 monthly) as it's still in beta. Once testing is complete, it will likely move to the same tier as Complete RT. You can subscribe to NiceGuy's Patreon for the shaders. I did not include the link in this text.
