During The Game Awards 2024, Netmarble unveiled a trailer for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, an action-adventure RPG set in the world of Westeros. While it might initially resemble a full-fledged console or PC title, Kingsroad is, unfortunately, being developed exclusively for Android and iOS mobile devices.
The trailer showcased familiar characters with realistic likenesses, voiced by the original actors from the HBO series. However, eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a noticeable gap in visual fidelity when compared to true AAA games. This is due to the fact that it's a mobile game, where graphics are often less detailed than what is available on PC and consoles.
Gameplay and Story
In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, you'll play as a new character, unexpectedly becoming the heir to House Tyre, a minor noble house from the North. The character will be fully customizable in terms of appearance and class, with three options to choose from: Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin.
Netmarble's Vision
Netmarble CEO Young-sig Kwon stated: "We believe Game of Thrones is a world rich with untold stories and adventures, and we’re pleased to bring Westeros to life in an exciting new way for gamers."
The game is slated for release in Europe, America, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania next year, with a launch for Asia still to be determined. You can sign up for updates on the official website.
