Gigabyte has introduced a more convenient way to activate its X3D Turbo Mode. Users can now enable the feature through the Windows AORUS AI Snatch app, in addition to the BIOS. However, the change takes effect only after a system restart.
Activating X3D Turbo Mode
To activate X3D Turbo Mode via the AORUS AI Snatch app, follow these steps:
- Update GCC to the latest AORUS AI Snatch version (B24.11.19.01 or later).
- Open the AORUS AI Snatch app.
- Click the flag icon in the lower-left corner.
- Click "OK" in the confirmation pop-up.
- The system will automatically restart to activate the feature.
To deactivate X3D Turbo Mode, select "Discard" in the app and restart your system.
Performance Boost
X3D Turbo Mode enhances gaming performance by optimizing CPU core assignment, bandwidth tuning, and power balancing. Gigabyte's tests show performance gains of 3-5% in some games with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Greater improvements were seen with the Ryzen 7 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X, due to their dual CCD configuration.
While this new activation method is more user-friendly, it's important to note that the mode cannot be toggled on-the-fly and requires a system restart.
